Hurricane Sandy: The Little Told Car Story
New York, NY (PRWEB) October 28, 2013 -- A year after Hurricane Sandy devastated the East Coast, Kars4Kids, a national car donation charity that funds educational and youth programs, has released a Hurricane Sandy site commemorating the natural disaster from a car-centric perspective. Tagged “the little-told story of Hurricane Sandy,” the site contains a plethora of information culled from the nonprofit’s expert knowledge of the automobile industry.
Perhaps most important, the site aims to provide consumers with the knowledge necessary to protect themselves from the purchase of flooded vehicles, a danger still present in the used car market across the country a year after the super-storm. Kars4Kids is in a unique position to tell this story, having received well over a thousand Sandy-damaged vehicles in the weeks following the storm. The site includes striking photos of wrecked cars donated to the nonprofit.
The commemorative site also features a wealth of data and statistics, attractively portrayed through graphs, charts and maps. A moving stories section brings the overwhelming numbers to life by making them real on an individual, personal level. Altogether, the site is a beautiful tribute to those affected by Hurricane Sandy.
"As a car donation charity we have a unique perspective on the damage caused by Sandy," said Steven Weldler, spokesman for Kars4Kids. "Each car has a story to tell, of tragedy and of resilience in the face of a great challenge. We felt obligated to tell those stories and to educate consumers about the dangers and methods of recognizing flood damaged cars."
