Huseby Technologies, LLC Launches Complete and Accurate Play Table Plans on KickStarter
Bozeman, Montana (PRWEB) January 24, 2017 -- Huseby Technologies, LLC is excited to release complete and accurate plans, designed to make it easier for the Do-It-Yourself woodworker to craft an elegant, quality play table for children. The goal is a set of accurate and complete drawings, that provide the woodworker all the information needed, and help with customization.
The project began, like so many projects, with a search for a play table to purchase. The options were either of marginal quality, rather expensive, or both. The choices were, 1) spend a lot of money, or 2) craft a play table as desired. The second choice launched this project.
The first prototype was created after a great deal of research and design. Readily available accessories, like toys, road mats, and train track picture mats, were reviewed for size requirements. Table heights were accessed. Materials and hardware were evaluated, as well as various means of robust leg attachment. The legs had to be firmly stable, but easy to remove, for easy storage.
The resulting prototype table is robust but elegantly simple, standing lightly in any room. The wood selected was Cherry, for its deep, reddish color, but many woods are adequate. The leg length was adjusted to allow a toddler to reach the play surface, but could be traded for longer legs, as the children grow.
Complete and accurate drawings were the end goal of the project. Some plans and drawings leave out certain detail, sometimes even leaving out some dimensions. Clarity on what is critical, and what is open to adjustment is often lacking. Conveying information is what these plans do.
Part dimensions is only a small part of the information provided on these drawings. The bulk of both sides of the 17 x 22 inch sheet is full of woodworking details and tips, and assembly suggestions and diagrams. There are also suggestions for areas to customize, and alternative materials that might be used. The resulting plans offer the woodworker:
- Clear dimensions
- Woodworking notes and tips
- Assembly and bonding instructions
- Suggestions for design customization
- A list of hardware and potential sources
- A large sheet format with space to make sketches and notes.
