Hydrogen Power Systems Taps International Markets
ESCONDIDO, CA (PRWEB) May 07, 2014 -- The HPS system uses "brute force electrolysis" to generate hydrogen vapor that is mixed with air and fuel in the engine. The hydrogen vapor causes the fuel to burn faster and more completely, resulting in fuel economy improvements ranging from 8 percent to 20 percent. The innovative system is modular, simple to install and fits in all gasoline and diesel engines.

Connors believes that market demand is strong for fully assembled, tested and warranted “bolt on” HVI systems that can reduce fuel consumption by as much as 20 percent and make it easier to comply with regulatory requirements in many states.
HPS is focusing its initial marketing efforts on the large number of diesel trucks in Southern California, especially heavy-duty vehicles such as trash trucks and shuttle buses that are subject to fuel-robbing start-and-stop driving conditions.
Earlier this year a subsidiary of Hawthorne Machinery Co., a San Diego-based Caterpillar dealer, agreed to become the first of three certified dealers and installers of Hydrogen Power System’s fuel-saving, on-demand HVI systems.
As part of the agreement, Hawthorne Power Systems has agreed to promote HPS series 200 and 300 systems to their own local customers as well as other Caterpillar dealers. Hawthorne is one of the largest of about 50 Caterpillar dealerships in North America, with a territory that includes San Diego County, Hawaii, Guam, Saipan and America Samoa.
HPS also is testing its system on three Nevada-based vehicles owned by Belt Transport Inc., which operates 100 DHL delivery and courier trucks in three states.
Last fall, California Air Resources Board approved HPS’ modular hydrogen injection systems for sale in the state. So far, the hydrogen injection system has resulted in:
1. Improved fuel economy. Depending on the engine, load and the application, fuel savings can range from 8 percent to 20 percent.
3. Less carbon build up on the valve stems and piston rings, which means less wear and longer engine life
4. Cleaner engine oil because there is less unburned fuel and carbon leaking past the rings into the crankcase.
5. More complete burn of diesel fuel causing the engine to run cleaner. Modest gains in horsepower and torque
HPS is an innovative startup company that has enhanced existing technologies to allow commercial truckers and heavy equipment operators to reduce fuel costs and meet stringent pollution standards with equipment already in service. Ultimately, the company will build a separate line of hydrogen injection products for personal vehicles.
