HYFN and The Partnership at Drugfree.org Announce the Release of New Prescription Drug Abuse Prevention App
LOS ANGELES, CA (PRWEB) October 29, 2013 -- HYFN, a full-service digital media agency, today announced its collaboration with The Partnership at Drugree.org on the design and release of a new web app for The Medicine Abuse Project, a national action campaign to prevent half a million teens from abusing medicines by 2017.
The cross-browser, cross-device web app, produced pro bono by HYFN, is an interactive quiz designed to educate parents and caregivers, healthcare providers, and educators about the widespread prevalence and danger of prescription drug abuse among teenagers.
“It was an incredibly rewarding experience to collaborate with The Partnership at Drugfree.org around such an important cause and utilize our expertise in immersive digital creative to reach and educate parents,” said Morgan Harris, CEO of HYFN. “We believe strongly in the power of digital media to create impactful experiences that raise lasting awareness, not just for businesses and brands, but critical issues affecting our communities as well.”
“From design conception through promotion, HYFN has generously shared their time, talent, and expertise to translate critical facts about this epidemic into a compelling call to action for parents with a clear path to deeper engagement," said Marcia Lee Taylor, SVP, Government Affairs for The Partnership at Drugfree.org, who helms The Medicine Abuse Project.
The app features a series of interactive questions that engage users on touch screen devices, as well as on desktops and laptops before encouraging them to share their results via social media, learn more at drugfree.org, and take the Pledge to end medicine abuse. The quiz was created using HTML, CSS, and Coffeescript, and is optimized for speed and usability. It can be accessed through The Partnership’s website, drugfree.org, and The Partnership at Drugfree.org’s Facebook page.
