iaedp™ Unveils Spanish Language Schedule for 2016 Symposium
Pekin, Illinois (PRWEB) December 30, 2015 -- The International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals (iaedp) has released the 2016 program line-up for its 30th Annual Symposium, featuring three key sessions in Spanish only that address the latest in eating disorder treatment, causes and science. The 2016 iaedp Symposium will take place over a five-day period, Feb.17 – 21 at the Omni on Amelia Island, Florida and will feature over 40 presentations and workshops.
“Many of our international members prefer the Spanish presentations, and other members are bilingual to better serve some of their patients,” said Bonnie Harken, Managing Director of The iaedp Foundation. “Last year’s Spanish-only presentations at the Symposium were a big hit among our members, so we decided to continue the series in 2016.
“The Spanish language webinars we sponsor are well attended, and the Spanish version of our Eating Disorders Review Online Journal is very popular. This has become important for our overall program, allowing us to better serve our members,” said Harken.

On Thursday, February 18, 2016, two Spanish-only sessions are scheduled.
Session #1 -
Presenter: Ovidio Bermudez, MD, FAAP, FSAHM, FAED, Fiaedp, CEDS
This presentation will review the epidemiology, risk factors, diagnostic criteria, cups of morbidity and mortality and treatment of patients who suffer from dual diagnosis of DM and TCA. Practical aspects of the clinical management of these patients will be discussed.
Session #2 –

Introduction to artificial intelligence.
History of the development of cognitive engines.
Differentiation between traditional conversational agents and general cognitive engine Rachael Repp

Practice with the virtual assistant for the diagnosis of TCA.
Closing with a proposed diagnostic support for rare diseases.
On Saturday, March 21, 2015, one Spanish-only presentation is scheduled.
Session #3 –

This workshop will take an alternative approach for the treatment of behavioral disorders using Alimentaria TCA-Therapy Acceptance and Commitment-ACT. The acceptance and commitment therapy is useful for managing the effects of traits, unconsciously governing the behavior of people. It is used to achieve strong emotional reactions accept related to temperament and redirecting behavior, thereby promoting self-direction. Through ACT, mental rigidity is softened, allowing the person to be more flexible.
