IANA’s Joni Casey Receives Industry Honor
Calverton, MD (PRWEB) December 09, 2015 -- The Intermodal Association of North America’s (IANA) president and CEO, Joni Casey, was honored with the Containerization & Intermodal Institute’s (CII) 2015 Lifetime Achievement Award during the Connie Award Luncheon at the Newark Club in Newark, New Jersey. The recognition acknowledges an individual’s long-term career commitment to the logistics industry.
“It is an honor to serve this industry for 30+ years,” said Joni Casey. “I am grateful to have been selected to receive CII’s Lifetime Achievement Award and believe it is a reflection of the work IANA does to help grow the intermodal industry and advance the interests of intermodal freight transportation providers, suppliers and customers.”
Ms. Casey began her career with the American Trucking Associations (ATA) 30 years ago as an economist. She expanded ATA’s multimodal presence, becoming the first executive director of its intermodal conference. Prior to moving into the role of president and CEO of IANA in 1997, she served as president and CEO of the Transportation Intermediaries Association. Her career has been devoted to representing the freight transportation community from both a policy and business operating perspective.
Active in numerous professional organizations, Ms. Casey has served on various industry committees and boards including the Executive Committee of the Transportation Research Board; the University of Denver’s Transportation Institute; the Global Maritime and Transportation School of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy; the Board of Advisors of the Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland; and the Business Advisory Committee of Northwestern University.
“Joni Casey’s dedication has created a long-lasting, positive impact on the intermodal industry and ultimately benefits American commerce.
