Ashburn, Virginia (PRWEB) January 30, 2014 -- The NGA Center for Best Practices hosted the "State Workshop on Innovations in Energy Efficiency Policy: West and Midwest" in San Diego, CA on January 27 – 29, 2014 at the Embassy Suites. Dr. Dustin J. Knutson participated in a panel discussion on the topic of saving energy in public sector facilities. The panel was comprised of Dustin Knutson and Chuck Murray, Senior Energy Policy Specialist at the Washington State Department of Commerce. Sue Gander from the NGA Center for Best Practices was the moderator.
“I was excited to share current trends in the energy industry and participate in dialogue that will help advance the future of energy in America,” said Dr. Knutson, Director of Energy Services at IBTS. “We are beginning to see some of the impacts that policy can facilitate for energy efficiency at the State level. Previous barriers to implementation are now being addressed in part through changes in the contractual and financial mechanisms used to help Governors save energy and its associated costs, quantify their efforts, and position their State as a leader.”
The event was well attended by 16 states/US territories.
