ICPI Announces Updated U.S. and Canadian Concrete Paver Installer Course Schedule for 2018
CHANTILLY, Va. (PRWEB) March 12, 2018 -- The Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute (ICPI) announced today the U.S. and Canadian schedule for basic and advanced concrete paver installer courses prior to the 2018 installation season.
The courses are key requirements for earning ICPI Certification and Designations, the leading installer credentials in the industry. Courses are sponsored by ICPI member companies and allied industry organizations. Each course is taught by an ICPI authorized instructor.
Online registration for courses scheduled during March, April, and May is available at https://www.icpi.org/events/calendar.
Completing the ICPI Concrete Paver Installer Course and passing the associated examination with a score of 75% or higher are two of the requirements for installers to earn the ICPI Concrete Paver Installer Certification. The third requirement is to document installation experience on at least five projects totaling 10,000 sq. ft. to earn the Certification.
After achieving their Certification, installers can gain Specialist Designations:
• Residential Paver Specialist Designation requirements—completing the Advanced Residential Paver Technician Course, earning a passing score on the course exam, and documenting experience on at least 10 projects totaling 50,000 sq. ft. in the residential market.
• Permeable Interlocking Concrete Pavement (PICP) Specialist Designation requirements—completing the PICP Specialist Course, earning a passing score on the course exam, and documenting experience on at least 10 projects totaling 50,000 sq. ft. of permeable pavement installation.
• Commercial Paver Specialist Designation requirements—completing the Commercial Paver Technician Course, earning a passing score on the course exam, and documenting experience on at least 10 projects totaling 50,000 sq. ft. in the in the commercial market (which includes both commercial and municipal projects).

Concrete Paver Installer Courses
The two-day classroom-based course equips individuals currently employed in the concrete paver installer industry with classroom training to properly install interlocking concrete paving systems. Concrete Paver Installer Courses are scheduled for:

Advanced Residential Paver Technician Courses
The Advanced Residential Paver Technician course provides classroom-based training in residential paver installations and covers some of the hottest topics in outdoor living space design and construction, specifically specialty applications such as raised and multi-level patios, fireplaces, fire pits, grills, outdoor kitchens, pool decks and permeable interlocking concrete pavement. It is recommended (but not required) that participants have completed the ICPI Concrete Paver Installer Course prior to attending this two-day course. Permeable Interlocking Concrete Pavement (PICP) Specialist Courses
The course trains experienced contractors about the differences of installing PICP vs. regular interlocking concrete pavement systems. The course is aimed at contractors who are presently doing residential and/or commercial concrete pavement installations and wish to move into the permeable pavement market. It is recommended (but not required) that participants have completed the ICPI Concrete Paver Installer Course prior to attending this course. Upcoming PICP Specialist Courses are scheduled for:
