ICW Group Names Danny Engell Head of New Data and Analytics Department

SAN DIEGO (PRWEB) April 30, 2015 -- ICW Group Insurance Companies, a leading national multiline property and casualty company, named Danny Engell vice president of enterprise strategic planning and analytics. A newly created position for the company, Engell will report to President and CEO Kevin Prior. He will be responsible for driving analytics and business intelligence to achieve competitive advantage across all business lines, through increased efficiencies, innovative products and accurate pricing and reserving.

Engell began his tenure with the company as an actuarial analyst in 2005, and has since held several leadership roles. He was previously vice president of workers’ compensation underwriting, where he assisted in overseeing branch underwriting operations. Engell is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries. He earned a Bachelor of Science in mathematics from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.

ICW Group’s direct written premium (DWP) for fiscal year 2014 was $789.4 million, up 18.3 percent from the previous year, and a 66.5 percent increase from 2012. The company actively writes primary workers’ compensation insurance in 12 states, along with incidental coverage in 34. It was named the number one property casualty insurer in net premium growth for 2013 by National Underwriter.
