IDC’s STAR Pro Audio Solution selected by Towercom for new radio network
Ottawa, ON (PRWEB) March 30, 2015 -- International Datacasting Corporation (TSX: IDC), a technology provider for the world’s premiere broadcasters, is pleased to announce that Towercom, a leading operator of radio transmitters for public and private radio broadcasters in Slovakia, has selected the STAR Pro Audio Solution to serve Radio VLNA.
“Based on our many years of experience with the STAR Pro Audio, the solution delivers the operational cost savings we are looking for in a reliable and cost-effective platform,” said Juraj Vodny, Project Manager, Towercom. “The flexible and feature-rich STAR receiver provides everything we need to satisfy our customer’s expectations.”
The STAR Pro Audio Solution includes professional DVB-S/S2 audio receivers supporting ASI & IP connectivity for professional audio distribution over the terrestrial network in Slovakia.
STAR receivers are ideal for deployment at co-located radio stations or transmitter sites. Each audio decoder in a STAR receiver is independent of the other, allowing maximum flexibility in data rates, codecs and sample rates: MPEG Layer 2 for existing DVB compatibility or new High-Efficiency Advanced Audio Coding (AAC HE) for the best audio performance at the lowest bit rate.
“The selection of the STAR Pro Audio solution by this longtime customer demonstrates our continuing mission to provide industry-leading technology for radio broadcasters,” said Doug Lowther, President and CEO of IDC. “The combination of excellent audio quality and cost-savings offered by the new solution will be a great benefit to Radio VLNA.”
