Identity Automation Chosen by Long Beach Unified School District
Houston, Texas (PRWEB) March 01, 2016 -- Long Beach Unified School District, one of the forty largest school districts in the nation, has chosen Identity Automation’s RapidIdentity solution to manage its user access and identities across its entire physical and cloud infrastructures. RapidIdentity, the next-generation identity and access management SaaS solution, will support the school district’s 90,000 users, including students, teachers, administrators, and faculty, at its 94 campuses throughout the district.
As part of efforts to advance its IT infrastructure to better meet the needs of the evolving digital classroom, Long Beach USD wanted to convert from its legacy eDirectory system to the more modern Active Directory service that would allow the use of Google Apps and Office365. They realized this transition could not be done overnight with a flip of the switch and would instead be a gradual process. As a result, they needed an identity and access management (IAM) solution that could work with both eDirectory and Active Directory.
The new IAM solution would be Long Beach USD’s first full user lifecycle management system. The district was seeking a solution that could streamline its identity management functionality and replace the inefficient manual processes and point tools they had previously been using.
