iDiscovery Solutions’ Daniel Regard and Tom Matzen’s DESI V Workshop Position Paper Highlighted in Jason Baron’s Keynote Address at Masters Series Event in Philadelphia
Washington, DC (PRWEB) July 31, 2013 -- Daniel Regard, CEO and Co-Founder of iDiscovery Solutions, Inc., ("iDS"), presented a position paper entitled, “A Re-Examination of Blair & Maron (1985)”, on June 14, 2013 in Rome, Italy. The paper, co-authored with iDS Director Tom Matzen, was presented as part of the 3rd Session to the DESI V Workshop on “Standards for Using Predictive Coding, Machine Learning, and Other Advanced Search and Review Methods in E-Discovery”.
Mr. Jason Baron, the Director of Litigation for the National Archives and Records Administration in Washington D.C. and a founding co-organizer of the DESI Workshop, highlighted the DESI V position paper during his keynote address at the Masters Series event in Philadelphia on July 23, 2013. Mr. Baron’s speech was on the topic of "Predictive Coding, Pizza and Religion: A Report on the DESI V Workshop in Rome."
In front of a sold-out Masters Series audience at the Union Club, Mr. Baron noted, "Dan Regard and Tom Matzen have come together with a very interesting paper for the DESI V Workshop on Predictive Coding. The paper that Dan and Tom authored should be read by all in our industry that hope to learn more about the Blair & Maron study, and why the study (put in proper context) is important, even 28 years later, to the ever-changing world of advanced search including Predictive Coding.”
At the conclusion of the Masters event, Mr. Regard elaborated, “I am a big proponent of Predictive Coding. However, I feel that our industry has misunderstood, or even vilified, search terms often on the basis of the work of Blair & Maron. This paper should give proper insight on the interpretation of that historic research.”
Mr. Regard, Mr. Matzen, and Mr. Baron will all be speaking in September 2013 at the Masters Conference in Washington D.C. Mr. Regard will be heading a panel of the industry’s top thought leaders on Predictive Coding during that event.
