IDScan.net Announces its Release of Mobile Passport Scanning
(PRWEB) December 06, 2016 -- New Orleans-based tech company, IDScan.net has announced the release of a new machine-readable zone (MRZ) component to their application, VeriScan Online. This enhancement has also been released in the iOS Software Development Kit (SDK), for integration into any iOS app. The MRZ scanning capability allows IDScan.net customers to scan the MRZ and auto-populate the individual’s data from their passport or country ID card directly into the digital form, with 100% accuracy.
The new component allows users to scan passports with VeriScan Online on mobile iOS devices. Users will be able to scan MRZ on Android mobile devices starting next month. Now businesses can scan the MRZ of any passport or identification card simply and easily, using the camera on any iOS device such as an iPhone or iPad.
The information embedded within the MRZ on passports includes data such as country code, document number, name, country of origin, date of birth and expiration dates. With particular uses for government and security based organizations, the data can be parsed rapidly with 100% accuracy.
“The speed and accuracy are key features of the ID scanning technology,” says Denis Petrov, CEO of IDScan.net, “which our mobile app customers have been requesting for quite some time. This new release allows us to provide a global mobile solution rather than just North America and other select countries.
“Data from the machine-readable zone on passports can be parsed within one second of scanning. We’ve worked with 3M, as well as many other global organizations, with exposure to a multitude of MRZ documents to enable us to build the most robust parsing engine available on the market today,” Mr. Petrov said.
The software development kit can read all MRZ documents, including all passports, visas, green cards and most country IDs and drivers’ licenses.
