Indianapolis, Indiana (PRWEB) June 27, 2016 -- The Indiana Health Care Association/Indiana Center for Assisted Living (IHCA/INCAL) has announced the winners of the 2016 Senior Living Awards. The recipients are:
Long Term Care Facility of the Year - Signature Healthcare of Muncie (Muncie, IN)
Assisted Living Facility of the Year - Heritage Park Assisted Living (Fort Wayne, IN)
Administrator of the Year - Mark Gavorski, Homeview Center of Franklin (Franklin, IN)
Clinical Staff Member of the Year - Vicky Hesser, Director of Nursing, Randolph Nursing and Rehab, (Winchester, IN)
Support Services Staff Member of the Year - Eddie Butts, Maintenance Director, Mount Vernon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center (Mount Vernon, IN)
Volunteer of the Year - Richard Andresse, Lowell Healthcare (Lowell, IN)
Associate Member of the Year - Healthcare Therapy Services (HTS)
Signature Healthcare of Muncie has received a 5-star rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). While caring for a clinically complex and diverse group of residents, the center has developed and implemented several cutting edge programs addressing respiratory care, heart failure and palliative care. The Signature Healthcare of Muncie staff continues to come up with new ways to enhance residents' quality of life, including conducting fishing trips and bringing ponies into the center for bedside visits.
Heritage Park Assisted Living received a deficiency free status in both its 2015 and 2016 annual surveys by the Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH). The center also earned a perfect score on its annual Customer Satisfaction Survey conducted by parent company American Senior Communities. The staff at Heritage Park AL provide a homelike and welcoming environment for residents in many ways including offering personal shopping, personal laundry service, and year round activities to enrich the mind, body and spirit.
Recipients of the 2016 Senior Living Awards will be honored during the association’s annual Convention & Expo, August 22-24, at the Sheraton Indianapolis Hotel at Keystone Crossing. Winners are chosen from peer and colleague nominations. Over 130 nominations were submitted this year.

IHCA/INCAL is the state’s largest trade association and advocacy group representing for-profit and not-for-profit nursing homes, as well as assisted living communities and Independent Living. The association provides education, information, and advocacy for health care providers, consumers, and the workforce on behalf of its more than 350 members.
