iland Recognized in Gartner’s 2015 Critical Capabilities for Disaster Recovery as a Service
HOUSTON (PRWEB) December 18, 2015 -- iland, an award-winning enterprise cloud infrastructure provider, today announced it has been ranked in the top five of all four uses cases of Gartner, Inc.’s 2015 “Critical Capabilities for Disaster Recovery as a Service.”* The use cases include Production and Application Data Recovery, Mission-Critical Workload Recovery, Extended Recovery Operations and Managed Service Failover.
According to the study, “By 2018, the number of organizations using disaster recovery as a service (DRaaS) will exceed the number of organizations using traditional, syndicated recovery services. By 2018, 20 percent of very large enterprises (that is, organizations with 5,000 or more employees) will be failing over the operation of one or more production applications to either DRaaS, IaaS or cloud enabled managed hosting.”
“Today, companies of all sizes must be able to reliably and affordably protect themselves against the unexpected – whether it be a cyberattack, human error or natural disaster,” said Brian Ussher, president, iland. “Addressing that need head on, we have integrated our proven DRaaS natively into iland’s cloud services, introduced unmatched compliance and security capabilities, offer simple pricing models and ensure expert support is just a phone call away. We are proud to have our efforts recognized by Gartner, once again, and feel this new research will help IT leaders understand critical capabilities, evaluate providers according to unique business needs and avoid common pitfalls.”
With a decade of experience in delivering disaster recovery solutions, iland’s DRaaS enables IT workloads to be replicated from virtual or physical environments to a global high-availability cloud infrastructure. Unlike other providers, iland goes beyond simple backup to ensure all key workloads are protected and the disaster recovery process is tuned to customers’ business priorities as well as security and compliance needs.
As part of the new study, Gartner evaluated 14 service providers based on eight critical capabilities: Physical/Virtual System Recovery, Testing and Declaration, Service Manageability, Pricing Policy, Resiliency, Security and Compliance, Value-Added Services and Customer Experience.
iland was also positioned by Gartner in the “Challengers” quadrant of the 2015 “Magic Quadrant for Disaster Recovery as a Service.”** The company has achieved the Cisco Powered Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) designation under the Cisco® Cloud and Managed Services Advanced Certification.
iland is ranked as a leader in Forrester Research, Inc.’s report entitled, “The Forrester Wave™: Disaster-Recovery-As-A-Service Providers, Q1 2014.” In the research firm’s evaluation, iland received the highest scores possible for its core DRaaS offerings, recovery objective capabilities, platform and application support, data resiliency and risk mitigation, security, value proposition and vision, as well as pricing, service levels and contract terms.
