ILX Respond to Call for More Project Management Education in Vietnam
(PRWEB UK) 17 January 2014 -- Project management skills have been identified as a critical area in Vietnam, with the country’s socioeconomic progress made with ODA now re-focusing on “ideas, knowledge and solutions” along with the development of vital skills with specialised education, reports Vietnam Net. This will hopefully help to maintain progress in the country as well as boost further growth, with skill shortages addressed through training and education.
Ms. Melina Silva, Master of Project Management program coordinator from RMIT’s Centre of Commerce and Management, said: “Many often think of project management as being just about getting a building finished on time. Actually it is a great deal more than that, and it is relevant to all sectors of business, government and even the NGO sector.
“A knowledge of ‘best practice’ international project management principles is going to position many individuals for leadership positions in their organizations – or help them to keep those positions– because it’s going to be increasingly recognized that project success is not something that can be left to chance or luck anymore.”
A new scheme, dubbed the RMIT Master of Project Management program, is designed to educate students with the knowledge and skills that they can go forward and utilise in any industry. The majority of students are already working professionals, both theory and practical aspects of project management are focused on, with courses taught by experienced industry professionals. A student currently taking part in the program said:
“There are some days when I stand in the boardroom presenting just what I learnt at school over the weekend. I am particularly interested in the planning, budgeting, risk management and teamwork parts of this course. All of my projects are about planning, executing and monitoring clinical trials to test drug efficacy and safety.”
ILX, a leading provider of accredited project management training courses, has commended this new drive in Vietnam, a spokesperson for the company said:
“We are obviously advocates in the value of project management training courses based on methods such as PRINCE2, and this new push for training project managers in Vietnam will only improve the country’s socioeconomic growth through integrating effective professionals educated in project management skills across many different sectors and industries.”
