(PRWEB UK) 18 July 2014 -- D. V. Sadananda Gowda believes that the reason railways across India have always fallen victim is due to severe budget and time mismanagement. The figures he used to back up his proposal highlighted these problems. In the last 30 years, various Indian governments have sanctioned 676 projects. As of 2014 only 317 could be completed, with the rest having been neglected.
The inclusion of a group called the Lok Sabha has been outlined by Gowda as a crucial turning point in the history of the Indian rail service. The Lok Sabha is the group challenged with ensuring that these project management failings of the past are avoided in the future.
The group consists of highly experienced project management professionals, along with experts from the railway industry and state government. They are seen to be part of a new wave of ambitious government moves to provide India with a modern and efficient transport infrastructure.
The project management teams will also form part of a new government initiative called the Innovations Incubation Centre. This is a body that will be set up to harness the ideas generated from the new railway projects. The idea is to ensure previous failings are bypassed and that successes are channelled into future projects.
A spokesperson for ILX, leaders in the field of project management, has stated ‘the Indian government have made extremely positive steps to ensure that projects are to be completed successfully.
‘Through their involvement of experienced project management professionals they have addressed the problems they have encountered in the past. This in itself is a pillar of successful project management techniques. Should they stick to the plans outlined in their proposal, ILX predicts that the Indian transport system will enjoy the positive development that the government has promised.’
