ImageQuantify.com Announces New IQbot for Quantitative Image Analysis of Sox2 Expression and Cell-to-Vessel Proximity

This new IQbot quantifies the relative distances or proximity of Sox2-positive and Sox2-negative cells relative to vessels in fluorescently-stained tissue cross-sections. “IQbots” are the engines that power the ImageQuantify.com analysis and management workflow — tools for common or custom preclinical research imaging assays that deliver validated, comprehensive data that is completely objective, reproducible, and accessible online. Within every IQbot results package researchers receive complete data (i.e., quantitative excel spreadsheets, image analysis overlays, usable file formats) and reference materials (e.g., methods and materials information, a video walkthrough of output data, relevant scientific literature references, material supportive of GLP compliance, and an algorithm validation certificate).
The Sox2 Vessel Proximity Analysis IQbot calculates the shortest distance of each Sox2-positive and Sox2-negative cell from a vessel border labeled with either antibodies for smooth muscle cell actin (SMA) or von Willebrand Factor. The distances are measured from the centroid of each cell's nucleus labeled with DAPI (4',6-diamidino-2-phenylindole) to the closest segmented vessel edge pixel. Relative distances or proximity of Sox2-positive and Sox2-negative cells, the SRY (sex determining region Y)-box 2 transcription factor (a stem cell marker), to vessels can provide a method for defining metastatic potential for tumors. IQbot outputs include the distance of each and every cell (positive or negative) within a given image to the closest vessel, along with the mean intensity of Sox2 labeling within that particular cell's nucleus. Additionally, the IQbot will generate a series of pseudo-colored overlay images enabling quick QA of the analysis outputs, as well as for use in publications or regulatory submissions. This IQbot will join the existing ImageQuantify.com catalog to assist researchers in more effectively (e.g., better and broader data) and more efficiently (e.g., improved cost and time-to-analysis) generating imaging data for their research.
