Imagination Playground Says Only 115 More Schools Needed to Reach 2016 Play Goals
New York, NY (PRWEB) December 06, 2016 -- Imagination Playground, LLC—creators of the breakthrough Big Blue Blocks that encourage child-directed, unstructured free play—announced today only 115 more schools are needed in their Gift of Play program for the company to meet its 2016 play goals. Gift of Play offers financial help to the many schools—as well as family centers—that want an Imagination Playground but cannot afford to bring one to their children.
At the beginning of this year, Imagination Playground announced their mission to reach 3 million more children with creative play—the kind of play experts agree is essential for all children to develop into happy and healthy adults. In spite of the lofty challenge, Imagination Playground reports today having reached 2,869,375 children, or 96% of their 2016 goal.
The company further reports that most of these children would not have been reached were it not for their Gift of Play program. They say 100% of their mission can be reached, but only if 115 more schools or family centers contact them to accept their Gift of Play before year end.
Imagination Playground President Dave Krishock says they are standing by and ready to help.

Among the many recent Gift recipients is Harvest Elementary in Saline, Michigan. Janet Smith, PTA President who led an Imagination Playground fundraiser for Harvest, and explained how Gift of Play enabled the parent group to complete the funds they needed for their blocks.
“Our school principal had seen the blocks and approached me about them. Because we strive for everyone to be collaborative they seemed so perfect,” she said.
“Gift of Play was a huge thing for us,” she added. “If we hadn’t have gotten it we probably would not have been able to make the purchase.”
John Spencer, of Child’s Play, Inc. in Dallas, Texas concurred. “As a playground provider, we were contacted by our clients who requested me to look into an Imagination Playground on their behalf. When I passed on to them they were going to receive the Gift of Play, it definitely made their decision to move forward,” he said.
