Imagine Dragons Hosts Pediatric Cancer Charity Gala
Salt Lake City, UT (PRWEB) July 03, 2015 -- The Tyler Robinson Foundation (TRF) is following up on their successful first gala hosted by Imagine Dragons with a second event at the Four Seasons Las Vegas in September. Along with an acoustic performance by Imagine Dragons, the following corporation and individuals will be honored with a 2015 TRF Humanitarian Award: Hamish Dodds, CEO, Hard Rock; Jonathan Agin, childhood cancer advocate, lobbyist, and writer; Lauren Hill, former Mount St. Joseph's University women's basketball player; Mikaela Shiffrin, U.S. Ski Team member; and Geoffrey Alintoff, Youth Fundraiser of the Year. This esteemed award is given to individuals and organizations who have directly benefitted pediatric cancer families and/or the mission of The Tyler Robinson Foundation.

About Imagine Dragons and TRF
In 2015 approximately 10,450 children in the United States will be diagnosed with cancer. Moreover, cancer is the leading cause of death from disease in children. Unbelievably, there’s an additional burden to manage when parents get this terrifying diagnosis: the financial fallout from pediatric cancer is often catastrophic. There are costs associated with childhood cancer that few people talk about, such as the cost of completely sanitizing the family home each month, childcare for the other children, tutoring, travel, and the loss of income when a parent quits a job to care for the ill child.
The Tyler Robinson Foundation (“TRF”) assists families with these and many other unseen costs associated with pediatric cancer, while also providing emotional support when families need it most. The TRF’s ultimate goal is to alleviate financial stress, by providing families with sound financial strategies and monetary grants, while also providing emotional support, via a TRF Advocate, so families battling pediatric cancer can focus on what matters most: each other.
The TRF is a 501(c) 3 Utah-based organization founded by the Grammy award-winning band, Imagine Dragons and the Robinson family. Tyler fought through several bouts with cancer before succumbing at the age of 17. His joyful and inspiring life forever changed the perspective of Imagine Dragons, the Robinson family, and fans worldwide. Since its inception in April 2013, The TRF has raised over $1,000,000 and helped more than 200 families.
