IMCA Elects Dynasty Financial Partners CIO Scott Welch to Board of Directors
Denver, CO (PRWEB) October 27, 2016 -- Investment Management Consultants Association® (IMCA®) elected Scott Welch, CIMA®, chief investment officer, Dynasty Financial Partners, to the organization’s board of directors for a two-year term beginning Jan. 1, 2017.
IMCA’s 13-member volunteer board of directors governs and guides the fiduciary, policy-setting, and strategic governing body of the organization. Directors-at-large serve up to three two-year terms and may serve longer when elected as an officer.
“Scott Welch is a well-known industry presenter and an award-winning author on the topics of wealth management, portfolio management, and the macroeconomic and investment landscape,” said Sean Walters, CAE, chief executive officer, “He is a strong advocate for fiduciary investing and the advanced professional development that IMCA offers. Welch has served for several years on IMCA’s editorial advisory board for Investments & Wealth Monitor, a peer-reviewed educational magazine, published bimonthly exclusively for IMCA members. He is a regular presenter within IMCA’s Conference Series, Masters Series, and Focus Series, including serving as co-chair for the upcoming Focus on Disruptive Trends in Business & Technology event in Austin, TX. Welch holds the Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA®) certification, which recently earned reaccreditation under an international standard. He also serves on the editorial advisory board of The Journal of Wealth Management and the planning advisory board for the annual ABA Wealth Management & Trust Conference.

Welch is the chief investment officer of Dynasty Financial Partners, a provider of outsourced investment research, portfolio management, technology, and practice management solutions to RIAs and advisory teams making the move to independence.
He was the founder of UnconstrainedThought, a macro-economic, investment, and wealth management consultancy. He was also a co-founder and former chief investment officer of Fortigent, LLC, a provider of outsourced investment research and technology solutions to RIAs and banks that served high-net-worth investors.
Prior to joining Fortigent and its predecessor firm in 1998, Welch spent more than 12 years on Wall Street, where he focused on capital markets, corporate finance, and derivatives.
