Impact Investor and Advocate of Sustainable Agriculture, Philippe Van Den Bossche, Commends the Winner of Organic Farmer of the Year
New York, NY (PRWEB) December 28, 2013 -- Philippe Van Den Bossche, an impact investor and advocate of sustainable agriculture, applauds Brian Bennett of DePeyster, NY for winning the Northeast Organic Farming Association Organic Farmer of the Year for 2014.
According to the December 18th article published by North Country Now titled “DePeyster man is Organic Farmer of the Year”, Bennett dedicates his life to farming full time in order to produce a large diversity of vegetables and crops, while also mentoring young farmers and speaking throughout the community to students and volunteers about organic farming. He’s become a very active member of his community, establishing the Ogdensburg Greenmarket and serving on the board of directors for the Canton Farmers’ Market with his wife.
Originally from Warwick, RI, Bennett became interested in farming as an adolescent after spending summers in Indiana, where his mother had farming roots. He went on to study plant science in college and became increasingly unhappy with the use of chemical pesticides and fertilizers, thus further investigating organic methods of production.
Philippe van den Bossche, an impact investor and advocate of sustainable agriculture, says it is people like Bennett who will help the push to bringing sustainable agriculture methods into the spotlight. “Mr. Bennett has been an excellent advocator for the organic farming community,” says van den Bossche. “The successes of local organic farmers, like Bennett, are building a strong foundation for the nation’s sustainable agriculture industry and will only continue to shed positive light on the benefits of organic farming. I hope that his efforts and achievements will inspire others to do the same.”
Philippe van den Bossche is an impact entrepreneur and investor and Chairman/Owner of Advancing Eco Agriculture (AEA), a leading organic agricultural and horticultural consulting and manufacturing company located in Middlefield, Ohio.
