IMPACT Receives CURT Workforce Development Award
(PRWEB) November 12, 2014 -- The Ironworker Management Progressive Action Cooperative Trust (IMPACT), a leader in innovative training alongside the Ironworkers National Training Fund has received its second coveted Construction Users Roundtable (CURT) Workforce Development Award for its Superintendent Training for Ironworkers program.
“IMPACT has been at the forefront providing hands-on and supervisory training to address construction situations involving safety, people, tasks, quality, time and cost,” said Iron Workers General President Walter Wise. “We are happy to receive another honor from CURT, and look forward to continuing to provide management skills-training for foremen and superintendents.”
A blended learning approach combined with independent study with in-person team-based problem solving and coaching were key elements that led to a successful program. Since 2012, more than 350 ironworkers representing 130 contractors in 13 U.S. states and two Canadian provinces completed the three-day course.
“This is a testimony to the cooperative spirit of IMPACT and the Iron Workers training staff,” said William Brown, president, Ben Hur Construction Co. “More than 200 additional ironworkers are expected to complete the course before the end of the year.”
Founded in 2000, CURT represents corporations across the United States and the world. The CURT Workforce Development Awards are designed to provide significant national and international recognition for extraordinary, exemplary and innovative training to encourage individuals to pursue a career and/or enhance an individual’s construction skills.
