Inaugural Tech Bootcamps a Success: Spring Schedule Announced
Austin, TX (PRWEB) February 03, 2015 -- Following the successful launch of its first Technology Bootcamp program in October, the Professional Development Center of the University of Texas at Austin in partnership with XTOL (Experiential Teaching Online) will launch a second program on April 10, 2015.
In response to surging demands for experienced software professionals in Austin and across the region, the UT PDC will again offer collaborative courses on software technology and data analytics.
Students work with faculty mentors on real-world team projects to build the very skills and experience employers are looking for in the following areas:
• Agile Web Application Development in Ruby on Rails
• Data Analytics/Big Data
• eCommerce Technology
“Students acquire authentic experience at a pace conducive to learning and at a cost that they can afford,” said Liliya Spinazzola, director of the Professional Development Center.
Students earn a Certificate of Completion and continuing education credits while developing a professional portfolio and gaining end-to-end project experience working on authentic software technology projects.
“We are excited about this innovative program and believe it to be a valuable alternative for people who, for any number of reasons, are unable to pursue a graduate degree in computer sciences at the university,” said Bruce Porter, chairman of the University of Texas at Austin Department of Computer Sciences.
