India Network Awards Travel Grant to Dr., Akshay Anand, Neurology Faculty to Present Research On the Role of Environment and Genes in the Study of Neurological Disorders

He will be presenting his research at the Annual Meeting of Society for Neurosciences in San Diego in November 2013. Dr. Anand’s research interests range from analyzing the role of genetic risk factors that modify ALS (Also known as Lou Gherig's Disease), Parkinson's Disease, and Alzheimer's Disease, to the screening of novel drugs for memory enhancement. The impact of this study's results are far reaching in helping scientists strengthen the molecular diagnostic component of research so that the new biomarkers can be discovered for evaluating disease burden.
