Indiana Limestone Co. Names Steve DiRaffaele Architectural Sales Rep for Metro NYC
Oolitic, Ind. (PRWEB) February 27, 2015 -- Stephen DiRaffaele is the new architectural sales representative for Indiana Limestone Co. in the New York metropolitan area. The city’s greatest buildings – from landmarks such as the Empire State Building and Yankee Stadium to award-winning contemporary structures like 15 Central Park West – were constructed with the company’s prized stone.
Drawing on an extensive building industry background, DiRaffaele will serve the region’s vibrant specifier community from his office in Manorville, Long Island. He will be a valuable technical resource, aiding architects and designers in product selection and collaborating with them throughout the design process. He will also assist the region’s stone fabricators in developing and identifying project opportunities, providing technical resources and facilitating relationships among stone mason installers.
A veteran of more than 30 years in construction, sales and management, DiRaffaele holds numerous professional distinctions and certifications, including LEED accreditation from the US Green Building Council. Currently planning to complete an undergraduate degree program at SUNY Empire State, Riverhead, he has lectured on sustainable building practices at the Manhattan School of Engineering, Columbia University Architecture Department, St. John’s University Architecture Department, and the sustainable building department at SUNY Stony Brook.
“I’m becoming part of a rich tradition in taking up this work,” he said. “Indiana limestone is a defining element in New York’s architectural heritage. It’s a privilege to help carry that heritage forward.”
“For such an important territory, we needed the strongest architectural representation we could possibly establish,” said Tom Quigley, Indiana Limestone Co. CEO. “Steve has the background, knowledge and drive to help our customers at all levels make the most of Indiana limestone’s unlimited design potential.”
