SAN DIEGO, Oct. 6, 2017 /PRNewswire-iReach/
Padres Pedal the Cause, a nonprofit organization that raises money for cancer research in San Diego, will be holding numerous indoor cycling classes on Saturday, October 7, to generate funds for the ultimate goal of curing cancer. The $20 donation-based charity rides, also known as Padres Pedal Spin Day, will take place at nine different fitness studios throughout San Diego County.
"We're thrilled to be partnering with local indoor cycling studios to bring this special fundraising day to San Diego," said Megan Parker, Development Manager. "For many, it will be the first time they're learning about Padres Pedal the Cause and this is a great introduction to our mission and event."
One hundred percent of the funds raised during the one-day event will go directly to cancer research at Padres Pedal the Cause's beneficiary institutions including Rady Children's Hospital–San Diego, Moores Cancer Center at UC San Diego Health, Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discovery Institute, and Salk Institute for Biological Studies. This year's indoor cycling event is a standalone event, that will supplement the organization's annual outdoor Pedal the Cause ride, which takes place on November 11-12, 2017.
The Padres Pedal Spin Day will aid the nonprofit in raising funds to donate to cancer research and treatment in San Diego. Since 2013, Padres Pedal the Cause has raised nearly $5 million dollars for cancer research, funded 31 research projects, and has cheered on over 41,000 riders and donors who have helped them work toward their goal of ending cancer. Those interested in participating in Padres Pedal Spin Day should visit the nonprofit's website, find the studio they prefer, and reserve their seat.
