Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) July 30, 2013 -- C Spire Business Solutions launches Push-To-Talk service on wireless phones according to their press release on July 22.
Tech analyst Jeff Kagan offers comment.
Ridgeland Miss. based C Spire Wireless launched their next generation Push-To-Talk (PTT) service for businesses, government agencies and service organizations.
“This PTT service helps customers communicate differently and that difference is very valuable for certain types of customers. PTT is not like a phone. It’s different. It's like a phone with super-powers. It’s fast. It lets users include larger talking groups. I supports many different device types,” says Principal analyst Jeff Kagan.
This next generation PTT is an IP-based system. It features a new PTT app that helps organizations communicate with groups simultaneously over a variety of connections like enterprise grade Wi-Fi, 3G and 4G data connections. It is being delivered through a partnership with Ericsson and Kodiak Networks.
C Spire offers a variety of devices including the Samsung Galaxy S II, Galaxy S III and Unimax 680 Android smartphones, the BlackBerry Curve 9360 and the BlackBerry Bold Touch.
“This next generation service goes far beyond what customers think about with PTT. This PTT service is advanced and uses the wirelss data networks letting C Spire offer services that business customers need,” says Kagan.
Key features of this new PTT service include a sub-second call set up, larger contact lists, the ability to combine PTT services and mobile applications, is highly scalable and simplified approach to PTT administration and security.
It also offers protection from unauthorized call interception and monitoring and availability of secure alerting and contact management.
“PTT has always been popular for workers in various industries like construction, public safety, local government and manufacturing,” says Kagan.
