InfoRelay Completes Router Upgrades at Its Los Angeles, CA Data Center Network
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) July 16, 2014 -- Northern Virginia-based data center and managed service provider InfoRelay has completed all router and networking hardware upgrades to improve connectivity and performance at its Los Angeles data center facilities as of July 9, 2014. The Cisco routers were replaced with new industry-leading Juniper routers and switches to deliver faster network connections with more capacity and improved reliability.
InfoRelay, which is headquartered in Herndon, Virginia, provides small, medium and enterprise business with data center colocation, network bandwidth, and managed IT solutions. The latest router upgrades each of the three Los Angeles facilities as part of a grander infrastructure growth initiative announced earlier this year. The completion of this upgrade replaced older routers with improved high performance routers at its LAX1, LAX2, and LAX3 data centers. These routers have the following improved capacities: increased peering connections, faster CPUs to manage network changes more quickly, a new total of 168x10GE ports, and added capacity to support heavier networking traffic. Additionally, clients that are hosting servers in a given Los Angeles facility can cross connect to other network providers more quickly and gain higher performance from those network ports on the new InfoRelay networking gear.
The router upgrades are intended to improve service to clients in the Los Angeles area. Juniper routers provide increased connectivity through additional 10g, 40g and 100g networking ports. Director of Technical Operations Josh Abraham explains, “The updated routers will allow us to reduce network latency for customers while at the same time providing them with a higher capacity and faster network. In addition, the Los Angeles cross connectivity capability creates additional, inexpensive data transport options available to our customers. These upgrades further emphasize our ongoing commitment to fulfilling our guarantee of 99.999% uptime, ensuring that our customers websites are running at peak performance 24/7/365.” The rest of InfoRelay’s geographic market router upgrades will span the upcoming year.
