Infrastructure Experts Fred Ochoa, PE, and Martin Marquez, PE, Join HNTB Corporation’s Growing Transportation and Structures Practice
Fort Lauderdale, Fla. (PRWEB) April 23, 2014 -- As demand for more transportation infrastructure grows with Florida’s increasing population, HNTB continues adding top talent to stay ahead of the increasing need for transportation professional services. Two new hires, Fred Ochoa, PE, and Martin Marquez, PE, have joined the firm and will be based in Fort Lauderdale.
As HNTB’s new statewide structures leader for Florida, Ochoa, associate vice president, will help integrate the firm’s statewide resources, raise awareness of HNTB’s capabilities throughout the state, and continue to grow the firm’s significant legacy of major bridges in Florida, including the Dames Point and Fuller Warren bridges in Jacksonville, the Hathaway Bridge in Panama City, and the Interstate 4 Conroy Road “Welcome to Orlando” bridge.
Ochoa joins HNTB from the Florida Department of Transportation District Four, where he served as district structures design engineer. He brings more than 21 years of experience, including the Interstate 595 Express Corridor Improvements Project, a public-private partnership for long-term mobility enhancements.
Martin Marquez, PE, will serve as transportation director and leader of the Fort Lauderdale office. Marquez brings a wealth of experience, knowledge and working relationships cultivated during 27 years in the South Florida market, primarily focused on FDOT Districts Four and Six, as well as Palm Beach County. Marquez will spearhead the expansion of HNTB’s presence in the South Florida transportation market.
HNTB’s personnel expansion also includes the recent hiring of Ken Hartmann, based in Tampa, as client service leader for FDOT statewide.
“These new hires mark three significant and impactful additions in Florida as part of our purposeful expansion,” said Adrian Share, PE, senior vice president and Florida district leader. “Florida’s population boom and resulting transportation demands have elevated the state to the largest market for consultant services in the country.”
HNTB’s history in Florida includes delivery of highway, toll road, rail/transit, major bridge and many other types of projects for more than six decades. The firm proudly serves as general engineering consultant for FDOT Districts One, Three, Five and Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise.
