The shop will be serving hot and iced teas, matcha, tea lattes and other tea-based beverages, French pastries, and Japanese confections.
Store owner Kristine Henderson is the owner of The Pleasures of Tea, a small company that has been selling loose leaf teas to local customers for 6 years. This store is the end goal of those years of work, after having made a name for herself as an authoritative source about teas while growing a clientele of loyal customers and becoming a recognizable face at various street fairs and local libraries over the years.
Henderson says, "This shop is what I've been working towards since I began selling loose leaf teas at street fairs six years ago. My customers are amazing and without their support, I wouldn't have thought that this was a possibility. Infuse carries teas from around the world and we're going to demonstrate the various preparation methods of teas from China, Japan, India, Turkey, and other places. There are so many different tea customs around the world that most Westerners aren't even aware of. I want to share these traditions with my customers and bring a true world view of tea to Long Island."
In addition to the shop featuring tea tastings and selling globally sourced tea ware, Henderson will be offering tea workshops in the store after hours.
