InjuReplay Releases Interactive Sports Injury App
Lincoln, NE (PRWEB) October 31, 2013 -- InjuReplay, a Lincoln, Nebraska-based company that provides educational sports injury information for fans, parents, coaches, athletes and fantasy league enthusiasts, recently released a sports injury app called Interactive Athlete™. The InjuReplay™ sports injury app, which is available on Android and iOS phones and devices, allows users to quickly understand sports injuries, possible treatments, and potential sports injury recovery time frames. The app was developed, along with the InjuReplay website at InjuReplay.com, by Outpost12 Studios of Lincoln, Nebraska. It provides educational information about pro-sports injuries, college sports injuries, fantasy player injuries, youth sports injuries and more. Information to populate the app was gathered with help from the InjuReplay National Expert Panel, a group of professionals composed of team doctors and sports medicine experts from San Francisco to Florida.
The Interactive Athlete sports injury app provides instant educational injury information for specific afflictions, categorized by the body part affected. The user opens the app to access a 3D model of the human body, then clicks on different body parts to see a list of four or five sports injuries related to that body part. The app is designed so users can see quickly how a sports injury will affect an athlete, whether it's a fantasy league player evaluating a trade, a concerned parent at a school football game, or a fan wondering when his favorite player will be back on the field.
The app is filled with educational information that can be applied to many sports injury situations. Dr. Robert B. Rhodes, founder of InjuReplay, reminds users that the app doesn’t take the place of professional medical consultations about sports injuries. It was designed to help fans understand real-time sports injury situations, from pro-sports injuries to youth sports injuries.
The idea for the sports injury app came to Rhodes when he overheard a conversation while watching a football game in the Nebraska Cornhuskers’ Memorial Stadium in Lincoln, Nebraska.
“One spectator was asking why an athlete was unable to play with turf-toe. The other agreed the player in question should be able to participate, even with an infected toenail,” Rhodes said. "I thought, if they don't get the seriousness of many sports injuries, there are 80,000 people who also don't get it, and another four million watching Monday Night Football, and 100 million watching World Cup Soccer."
Rhodes began working on the sport injury application with Outpost12 Studios in 2010. They wanted to create an app that was dynamically visual, interactive, and easy to use on-the-spot for spectators in the stands and elsewhere, including at home in front of the television. The result was an interactive 3D illustration of the human body.
"Outpost12 Studios is leveraging the power of modern 3D gaming engines for the Injureplay Interactive Athlete," says Michael Domgard, owner of Outpost 12. "Instead of looking at static images, you now can interact with a dynamic 3D model as you look for information about sports injuries. This allows the user to seamlessly explore the body's anatomy from any orientation and any zoom level.”
InjuReplay offers sponsorship opportunities in the app and on the company’s website for organizations related to sports injuries, such as sports teams, sports television, sports website,s and practitioners of sports medicine. Sponsor ads appear in places such as app loading screens, intros and credits in InjuReplay™ Injury Minute™ videos, and on the InjuReplay website, where fans can find additional resources, including the InjuReplay™ Sports Injury Dictionary and the InjuReplay™ Sports Injury Video Library.
