Insurance Industry Executives and Thought Leaders Convene at Applied Net UK
Brighton, UK (PRWEB UK) 14 October 2014 -- http://www..appliedsystems.com/en-uk/ [Applied Systems __title__ ] recently concluded the Applied Net UK Conference, the annual conference for users of Applied software in the UK, at The Belfry in Wishaw, Warwickshire. This year’s conference focused on developments in the UK insurance marketplace and addressed technology trends advancing the industry and creating greater possibilities for brokerages and insurers in the future. The conference featured an increased number of educational offerings, training and product development forums to support the Team-One membership, the independent Applied technology user group for UK and Irish insurance brokers, and growing Applied user base in the UK.
“The digital future of insurance will be shaped by connected experiences delivered through technology advancements, such as cloud computing, online self-servicing, and mobility, and balanced by the trusted advisor role independent brokers provide to customers to remain competitive in today’s marketplace,” said Reid French, chief executive officer, Applied Systems. “This week’s Applied Net UK event focused on these critical industry trends and developments, as well as served as a forum for exchange of business strategies and best practices among peers.”
A conference highlight included the industry trends panel that delivered insights for the insurance community and featured key industry stakeholders from the Chartered Insurance Institute, RSA Insurance Group, Polaris U.K. Limited, and brokers from the UK and Canada. Moderated by Team-One Chairman Tony Watmore, the panel focused on changing insurance consumer demands, shifting insurance distribution channels, and how e-Trading and technology advancements are supporting and differentiating the broker channel.
Philip Nunn, manager of Strategy, Sales and Marketing, Polaris U.K. Limited, commented that, “the younger generation brings new technological education and multichannel device expectations to the workplace. They expect employers to provide a variety of communication and multi-servicing technologies to support the workplace and help them drive business.”
David Swigciski, SME trading director, RSA Insurance Group, highlighted the opportunities for brokers to differentiate themselves with commercial lines e-Trading. “E-Trading provides a platform to streamline insurance transactions, enabling quicker client servicing and supplementing the broker’s role in the value chain. As Commercial Lines and combined insurance policies are more complex, insurance consumers will continue to require individualised advice from a trusted broker advisor to ensure their risk is properly represented and coverage is complete,” said Swigciski.
“As the insurance landscape continues to evolve, we are committed to delivering our members with the educational resources necessary to understand the latest technology trends and to fully leverage Applied software,” said Tony Watmore, chairman, Team-One. “This week’s keynote presentation, sessions, and panel built on the strong momentum of this annual conference, and we look forward to delivering further value to our members through continued thought leadership forums and our expanding relationship with Applied Systems.”
