CHESHIRE, Conn. (PRWEB) December 21, 2015 -- HAI Group, the leading provider of niche insurance programs for the public and affordable housing community, is proud to announce its annual support of charitable organizations across the US. Since its inception, HAI Group has been a longstanding supporter of giving back to organizations and individuals in need.
These charitable giving initiatives are overseen by HAI Group’s Assistant Director of Corporate and Community Events, Leslie Whitlock. “Providing opportunities to volunteer is a natural part of the culture at HAI Group. There is a definite ‘volunteer spirit’ here where employees are able to see the difference they can make by giving back to the community, and reminding us that even the smallest actions can make a big impact,” said Whitlock. “The charitable giving program began as a simple way to give back during the holidays. We held a food drive to benefit families in need in the Cheshire community, then it evolved into employees taking the lead to develop several fundraising programs to help those in need, both locally and nationally. As part of our end of year holiday celebration, we sell raffle tickets to employees for a chance to win prizes, and all money raised goes back into the community,” she said.
The September Committee, a group of employees dedicated to HAI Group’s charitable giving efforts, focuses on building communities through their initiatives. With HAI Group’s close relationships to public and affordable housing agencies, the committee was able to connect with the Rutland Housing Authority (Vermont) to give toys to children of families in need. They also combined forces with the Middletown Fire Department (Connecticut) to provide gifts for children of families in housing agencies.
HAI Group employees are busy throughout the year conducting various fundraising drives. The events range from collecting women’s clothing for a Dress for Success campaign, to providing food and toy donations for area no-kill animal shelters. Additionally, on-site events such as lunch fundraisers, cookie swaps, and casual dress opportunities raise money to support external charities.
A partial list of charities HAI Group has supported through 2015 includes national organizations such as American Cancer Society; Special Olympics; United Way of Greater Waterbury; Dress for Success; Children’s Wish Foundation international; The RiseUp Group ; The National Kidney Foundation; Cystic Fibrosis Foundation; Bright Horizons Foundation; ALS Association of Connecticut; Jane Doe No More; Cheshire Lights of Hope; American Lung Association; The Tommy Fund for Childhood Cancer; Fidelco Guide Dog Foundation, Inc. ; Leukemia &Lymphoma Society; and Triangle Down Syndrome Network.
