Insureon Awards $5,000 to Latest Winners of Small Business, Big Impact Scholarship Competition
Chicago (PRWEB) September 05, 2017 -- Insureon, the nation's leading online provider of small business insurance, today announced the winners of its Summer 2017 Small Business, Big Impact scholarship competition: Chi Chung of El Sobrante, California, and Eden Lolley of Huntsville, Alabama. Their essays stood out from more than 500 submitted. Each will receive $2,500 to help with their educational expenses.
Since 2014, Insureon has awarded $50,000 in scholarship funds to support the next generation of small-business enthusiasts like Chi and Eden.
In his essay, Chi writes about Uncle Chung's Szechuan, his family's restaurant that his grandmother started after immigrating to the United States from Hong Kong. He notes the restaurant has become a fixture in the community, and he is proud to be part of something his family worked hard to build. Studying managerial economics at the University of California, Davis, Chi hopes to become an accountant and use his skills to help the family business.
Eden Lolley's essay describes how she and a friend opened the gourmet food shop Walker's Market. Together they make small-batch foods available nationwide from their hometown in Huntsville, Alabama. She highlights that their community's support has been essential to their success. Eden, a freshman at Humboldt State University, majors in environmental resources engineering and plans to focus her career on combating climate change.
