Intalere Releases Inflationary Update for Healthcare Supplies
St. Louis, Missouri (PRWEB) February 23, 2016 -- Intalere, formerly Amerinet, recently released its updated Inflationary Indices to members which include company and industry projections for inflation rates across contract portfolio categories over the coming year.
“By alerting them to possible pricing issues based on market dynamics, the indices provide our members another decision support tool to assist in planning and cost reduction initiatives,” said Tom Wessling, Intalere’s vice president of contracting operations.
These projections represent industry inflationary performance, actual pricing through Intalere contracts and programs, and the expected impact of upcoming contract bids. The Intalere Inflationary Indices are published biannually and updated to reflect any market trends or changes.
The report offers estimates in categories including diagnostic imaging, environmental services, executive resources, foodservice, laboratory, medical supplies, office solutions, pharmacy, plant engineering and surgical supplies.
Some particular items of note:
- While the market decline in fossil fuel prices has been great relative to fleet management and heating costs, inevitably there will be a turnaround at some point. “Now is not the time to be lulled into a false sense of security and abandon planned energy conservation measures (ECMs),” said Mike Reid, vice president, construction, capital and facility services. “Doubling down on ECMs by reallocating the savings realized during this energy pricing boon will provide a great hedge against the impact when prices begin their ascent. Facilities should proactively be exploring strategic ECMs to improve operational costs and financial outcomes.”
- There is continued upward pricing pressure in the areas of X-ray film, developing products and developing chemicals. Ionic contrast media and Barium also remain volatile.
- In the computer hardware market, changes may occur due to extreme volatility in the memory market for RAM and solid-state drives coming from China. Natural disasters in China affected the production and availability of memory solutions.
