Washington Technology's Industry Innovators Awards Program honors companies that are transforming themselves to proactively meet new industry and customer needs. Winners of the prestigious award will be companies that have taken steps to become a true industry innovator. Companies are evaluated across four categories of transformation: Acquisitions, restructuring, internal R&D & technology alliances and strategic hires.
In the acquisition category, judges are looking to see if a company has closed an acquisition recently and how a recent acquisition may have allowed the company to increase capabilities, onboard new customers or obtain new contracting vehicles. Restructuring will evaluate how companies have re-structured to better meet customer needs. The internal R&D and technology alliances category looks at the impact R&D dollars have had and whether R&D investments allowed the companies to form new alliances with commercial technology vendors or brought about innovative opportunities for the companies. Finally, the strategic hires category reviews the impact of expanding the company's market share was a result of new talent being hired into the company.

Companies that are picked as industry innovators will be featured in a special report on WashingtonTechnology.com and honored at the GNC Dig IT Awards Gala this month.
