IntegriCell, SystemXCom Announce Partnership to Develop the World’s Most Resilient Smartphone
Washington, D.C. (PRWEB) July 31, 2013 -- IntegriCell Group, Inc., a recognized global leader in mobile security products and consulting services, today announced a partner agreement with SystemXCom, a smartphone and tablet portable communications platform provider. The partnership pairs IntegriCell products Anvil™ and SyncDog™ with SystemXCom’s Absolutely Secure™ encryption technology.
“We are well underway to building the prototype for the world’s most resilient mobile device,” said Aaron Turner, IntegriCell CEO. “Anvil will secure the device from the hardware to the operating system and implement event logging, while SystemXCom will manage application encryption through their inter-device communications platform.”
The partnership brings together dozens of years of experience in enterprise security in both public and private sectors. The solution package for the resilient smartphone will include:
• Anvil™ - IntegriCell’s hardware encryption technology. Anvil protects the device at the hardware level, based on a hardware root of trust (HROT), making smartphones resilient to hostile-carrier attacks. Carrier-level intrusion is the most difficult to defend against because mobile devices are always “open” to Carrier cell towers for updates and surveillance as mandated by GSM standards.
• SyncDog™ - IntegriCell’s security event management (SEM) technology. SyncDog will run mobile device security event logs through a correlation engine that will track patterns of behavior for system users. When a correlation is made between user events that is indicative of threat behavior, an alert is issued to the security administrator for remediation and archival for forensic analysis.
• Absolutely Secure™ - SystemXCom’s secure communications platform for voice, video, email, chat, and file transfer. The Absolutely Secure platform allows users to have access to an entire computer operating system with all their personal settings and files that are fully encrypted with the ability to securely connect network users from any location and from virtually any computer, just as if they were connecting via a private LAN or intranet.
The partnership is significant for bringing awareness to the vulnerability of mobile devices, often little thought of when infosec managers are securing enterprise IT networks. When these mobile devices are taken out of the U.S., mobile Carrier-based cyber-attacks occur without the victims’ knowledge, exposing their organizations’ enterprise networks to data breach. An international Carrier-based attack is often “silent” and difficult to detect because the rogue carriers’ cell towers look like valid, reputable overseas mobile networks. Many times these malicious carriers are operating at the behest of the government of the country the international traveler is visiting.
“International cyber-warfare doesn’t get a lot of coverage on the nightly news, but the threat to corporate intellectual property is significant,” said Patrick Bartlett, SystemXCom CEO. “We are excited to partner with IntegriCell to help clients harden their enterprise networks from this type of threat.”
Added Turner: “We have to get this message out: Organizations are under constant mobile cyber-attack and only a handful of enterprises are prepared to deal with the threat. At risk here is billions of dollars of intellectual property that is siphoned from unsuspecting organizations that don’t understand how dangerous it is to take a smartphone or tablet overseas without the proper precautions.”
IntegriCell and SystemXCom solutions are NIST/FIPS compliant, and have been live at production sites worldwide since 2011. For more information on IntegriCell Group and SystemXCom, please see below.
- About IntegriCell
IntegriCell delivers mobile security solutions and consulting services that provide insight to advanced persistent threats (APTs) that impact enterprise organizations, government agencies and end-user consumers. IntegriCell’s featured mobile security products are KeyLime, a universal hardware device for mobile security, and SyncDog, a software solution that correlates phone message logs to reveal patterns of user behavior indicative of cyber threat. The roots of IntegriCell date back to the early days of information security at Microsoft where IntegriCell founder Aaron Turner served as security strategist. Turner eventually landed in research and development at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Idaho National Laboratory, where significant research into cross-domain cyber security vulnerabilities has been conducted for more than a decade.
Originally a services company, IntegriCell’s professional services offerings are designed to be accelerated knowledge-transfer engagements targeting enterprise risk managers, network operators, infrastructure managers, government entities and law enforcement.
