Intelex Client Smith & Nephew Wins 2016 EH&S Information Management Award
Toronto, Canada (PRWEB) May 31, 2016 -- Smith & Nephew, a global medical technology business, was a recipient of the inaugural EH&S Information Management Award given out at the 2016 Verdantix Summit. One of only eight winners announced, Smith & Nephew won in the healthcare category for their development of an integrated safety and incident management system. Through its successful project for Smith & Nephew's Memphis location, Intelex Technologies, a global innovator of cloud-based environmental, health, safety, and quality (EHSQ) management software received a Verdantix EH&S Innovation Award.
Intelex’s software was rolled out in three stages at Smith & Nephew. Stage one consisted of automating the incident management process, transitioning away from paper and spreadsheets towards the Intelex Safety Management System. Stage two saw Smith & Nephew adopt a more proactive approach to safety, tracking near misses and other leading indicators in order to figure out where additional education and safety coaching was needed. In stage three, Smith & Nephew relied on Intelex’s document control application to track and automate document and permit management and improve renewal deadline forecasting. Smith & Nephew’s safety program was initially implemented in Memphis but has proven so successful in helping drive behavioral change that the company has plans to deploy the Intelex Safety Management System in other locations.
