Interdean Review Quality of Life as a French Pensioner
(PRWEB UK) 30 October 2013 -- It has been reported in Expat Forum that France is the most generous country in the world when it comes to retired citizens, with just a 9% gap from the rest of the population. This gap increases to 20% for the UK, Belgium, and Sweden, and to 28% in Denmark. It comes as a survey has shown that many expats may not be putting enough into their pensions, leaving them with the possibility of having to face working beyond the age of 65. In addition, many countries are gradually increasing the age at which residents qualify for old age pensions.
It was also revealed that many expats are unaware that the lifetime allowance (the total amount of pension savings that can be accumulated tax efficiently) has been reduced from £1.5 million to £1.25 million.
The international removal specialists at Interdean have been assisting customers with their overseas moves to France for more than 50 years. Dedicated to pursuing industry related topics, the news was welcomed by the team, prompting a representative to share their thoughts on the matter.
“The news reaffirms the view that France is still one of the best places to retire for UK expats. As well as a good income, it offers a culture different enough to our own to be worth the move without being too far from home. In light of the survey, we would advise those thinking of retiring overseas to consider setting aside more money for their pension. Remember at Interdean we also offer a number of financial services such as international money transfer and banking.”
