Interior Design Celebrates 85th Anniversary
New York, NY (PRWEB) April 20, 2017 -- Interior Design, a SANDOW publication and the industry authority and top resource and reference tool for professional interior designers, will celebrate its 85th anniversary with the publication’s March 2017 issue. The largest issue yet, at 333 pages, the March Anniversary Issue is a celebration of design that has both stood the test of time and set the precedent for the future.
Interior Design’s 85th anniversary issue will eschew the magazine’s typical editorial sections and features in favor of chapters – a magazine styled like a book. Included in this special issue is a “Who’s Who” of design companies also celebrating an anniversary this year; a trend report on the ever-evolving segments in the interior design industry: workplace, hospitality, health and wellness, education, and transportation; a “Then and Now” section on technology, kitchen and bath, the arts, renovation, restoration, and sustainability; and reissues in all the major product categories.
This year also marks the 40th anniversary of the iconic GIANTS of Design, a program and corresponding list pioneered by Interior Design to celebrate the best and most innovative design firms in the industry. In addition to the annual ranking of the 100 largest and most influential design firms, this year’s January GIANTS issue featured GIANT exclusives including: GIANTS Then & Now, GIANTS Favorite Projects of All Time, The Next Generation of GIANTS, The GIANTS Vision for the Next 40 Years, as well as a special hospitality and kitchen and bath section. Interior Design feted the anniversary with a conference and series of events at the Nizuc Resort in Cancun, Mexico.
“For 85 meaningful years, Interior Design has been recognized as the leading voice in the design industry,” proclaims Interior Design Editor-in-Chief Cindy Allen. “Every decision we make is for Design with a capital D, the architects and designers we champion, and the community we embrace. It’s very personal to me.“
“2017 marks the 40th anniversary of the Interior Design 100 GIANTS, the iconic list that our clients and designers anxiously await,” says Interior Design Publisher Carol Cisco. “Not only does the list celebrate the best and most innovative design firms, but it serves as a benchmark and overall pulse for the industry.”
“Since SANDOW acquired Interior Design in 2010, our investments in expanding our events, print and digital platforms have led to extraordinary double-digit growth virtually every year. Bringing the brand through its 85th anniversary is an honor, and we look forward to all of the new growth initiatives we have planned in the coming years,” says Adam I. Sandow, CEO of SANDOW.
