Intermedix Is Selected by AAEM to Support Its New Independent Physician Group Venture
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (PRWEB) February 10, 2016 -- Intermedix announced on Wednesday that it was selected by the American Academy of Emergency Medicine, an emergency medicine professional association, to support the organization's newly established physician group with a number of practice management services.
The American Academy of Emergency Medicine, or AAEM, seeks to empower emergency physicians to control their own practices. Recently, the organization created its own independent physician group to support this vision.
“The physician’s primary responsibility is to the patient,” said AAEM President Dr. Mark Reiter. “We believe the integrity of the doctor-patient relationship requires that emergency physicians control their own practices free from outside interference.”
In order to provide the emergency physicians who decide to join the group with proper support, AAEM engaged with Intermedix to provide practice management services.
“When planning the creation of this group, we knew we needed to provide physicians with appropriate supporting services,” said Dr. Reiter. “Intermedix’s strong history of serving emergency physicians made the selection of the company the clear choice.”
Intermedix, a company that delivers practice management, revenue cycle management and analytics services to emergency physicians, will be providing analytics and practice management services to the group, including accounting, payroll and other administrative needs.
“At Intermedix, our mission is to serve those who save lives,” said Intermedix CEO, Joel Portice. “We are eager to embark on this partnership with AAEM and provide their physicians with the business and technology infrastructure they need to be able to focus on patient care.”
Physicians who join the group will also have the option to partner with Intermedix for billing and coding services.
