International Armoring Corporation Receives $3.5 Million Order to Armor Utility Vehicles
Salt Lake City & Centerville, Utah (PRWEB) October 01, 2013 -- International Armoring Corporation (IAC), announced today, that it has received an order to armor 34 Toyota Hi-Lux vehicles for use by an electric utility company in Africa. These vehicles will be built to level B6 protection (High Powered Rifle) and valued at more than U.S. $3.5 million. Materials required to armor these vehicles will be designed and manufactured in IAC's facility and shipped to IAC’s foreign facilities for installation. It is anticipated that the entire contract will be completed by February 2014.
Due to the security risks being faced in some foreign countries, IAC is finding more and more demand for their product in the commercial arena. From armoring farming tractors in Israel, Snowcat machines in Turkey to taxi cabs in Iraq the product mix at IAC is changing from just typical passenger vehicles. The use of IAC’s proprietary lightweight Armormax ballistic material has become the armor of choice. In addition, IAC’s design and engineering capabilities has made IAC the worldwide leader in armor innovation, not only with their “bread and butter” passenger vehicles but with specialty projects, like utility trucks.
“An increasing number of clients are seeing IAC as more than a passenger vehicle armoring company” said Andrew Burton, VP of Product Development at IAC, “Whatever security concerns exist, IAC is a capable source for design and manufacturing. The African utility company contract is a perfect example where a need was recognized and a solution developed.”
