International Datacasting scores during the Big Game
Ottawa, ON (PRWEB) February 12, 2015 -- International Datacasting Corporation (TSX: IDC), a technology provider to the world’s premiere broadcasters, is pleased to announce that Desert Sky Media successfully delivered the Q13 FOX News Seattle broadcast from the site of the Super Bowl using IDC’s state-of-the-art TITAN 3 video contribution encoder.
Desert Sky Media used several TITAN 3 encoders to return camera feeds to the Seattle station for production. The broadcast signal was then retransmitted to Arizona for commentary by the Q13 FOX News Seattle on-air talent located at the Super Bowl venue.
“The low latency of the TITAN 3 encoders made it easy for our anchors to interact with the broadcast video produced in Seattle,” said Michael Stanton, Director of Special Projects and News Technology, Q13 FOX News Seattle.
The TITAN encoder provides the perfect balance of high video quality and best-in-class usability for demanding outside broadcast applications such as live news and sporting events. The TITAN encoder family provides solutions for standard and high definition encoding in MPEG-2 or MPEG-4. TITAN 3 features extremely low latency of 150ms and available 4:2:2 10-bit encoding in high definition.
“The TITAN 3 low latency mode works well with other manufacturers’ receive equipment, so the end-to-end setup was quick and easy,” said Mitchell Pietz, Vice-President of Desert Sky Media. “The TITAN 3 front panel controls are simple to figure out and easy to use.”
The TITAN encoder design is based on more than a decade of IDC experience serving the outside broadcast industry. TITAN encoders are built from the ground up for the demanding conditions of outside broadcasting, featuring rugged construction to achieve superior reliability. The TITAN encoder has an easy to use front panel which allows quick setup for mission critical operations, and is able to achieve signal on-air from power up in less than 60 seconds.
“TITAN encoders have a long history of delivering high-profile events with the highest image quality and reliability,” said Doug Lowther, President and CEO of IDC. “Congratulations to Q13 Fox News Seattle and to our customer Desert Sky Media on the successful broadcast of this marquee event.”
