International School of Lausanne Appoints Dr. Frazer Cairns as New Director
Lausanne, Switzerland (PRWEB UK) 29 August 2017 -- The International School of Lausanne (ISL) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Frazer Cairns as its new Director. Dr. Cairns returns to Switzerland after leading the United World College of South East Asia (Dover) in Singapore. Prior to this he was head of the International School of Geneva, Campus des Nations. In his new role, Dr. Cairns will be responsible for the operations and strategic direction of the approximately 880-student school, working closely with the 12-person Board.

Dr. Cairns started his career as a management consultant and journalist after graduating from the University of York in the UK. He retrained as a science teacher and subsequently taught in the UK, Indonesia, Singapore and Switzerland. In Singapore, Dr. Cairns managed campus operations at the United World College of South East Asia, Dover Campus, a school of approximately 3,000 students. Prior to that, Dr. Cairns was head of the International School of Geneva, Campus des Nations. Having worked in international schools for most of his career Dr. Cairns is particularly interested in the way language is used in multilingual educational settings. He continues to study and contribute to research in this area, holding both Masters and Doctorate degrees in education.
Dr. Cairns succeeds Ms. Lyn Cheetham who departed ISL in December 2016. Students and parents will have the chance to welcome the new Director when school reopens for the 2017-2018 term on 30 August.
