NEPTUNE BEACH, Fla. (PRWEB) November 02, 2017 -- International Student Insurance (ISI) is proud to announce the release of its multi-media sexual assault training program for schools in the USA. ISI partnered with the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN), the nation’s largest anti-sexual violence organization to develop this engaging training session on sexual assault awareness for international students. This free resource includes discussions about consent, bystander intervention, staying safe, what to do in the event of an incident, and protections from both law enforcement and their school.
“Sexual assault on U.S. campuses has received a lot of attention, with nearly 1 in 5 women experiencing sexual assault during their time in college, and there are a lot of resources to help schools train and prepare their students on the topic,” said Keith Clausen, president of ISI. “However communicating with international students about sexual assault adds a layer of complexity to an already difficult topic, so together with RAINN we have created a high-quality, comprehensive multimedia training specifically for colleges and universities to present to their international students.”
This Sexual Assault Training Program for International Students is module-based so that schools can customize their program depending on the time they have available, and includes the following pieces:
- Overall powerpoint presentation: complete and ready to deliver
- Proctor guide: fully-scripted, step-by-step guide for the presenter
- Student stories video: exploring the experience of 11 international students and the cultural differences they face in learning about sexual assault
- Sexual Assault Awareness video: concise overview of sexual assault, consent, staying safe, bystander intervention and post-incident support and guidance
- Engagement activities and discussion scenarios: focused on topics including consent, staying safe and bystander intervention
- Review brochure for students to take away
“For more than 20 years, RAINN has worked to create educational programs to bring support to campuses across the United States. This training is unique because it brings the conversation of sexual violence to an international audience,” said Kati Lake, RAINN’s vice president of consulting services. “We are dedicated to working with campuses to improve their sexual violence education and response practices.”
The new “Sexual Assault Training for International Students” is available for free to high schools, colleges, and universities throughout the United States and to other organizations that serve international students. For further information and to order your free copy, visit:
