International Tennis Performance Association (iTPA) Announces Creation of the Paul Arber Young Tennis Coaches Award
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) January 16, 2014 -- The International Tennis Performance Association (iTPA), a tennis fitness certification and education company targeted at tennis coaches, strength and conditioning coaches, trainers, physical therapists and other tennis specific specialists, today announced the creation of the Paul Arber Young Coaches Award. This award honors well-liked Australian tennis coach Paul Arber, who demonstrated character, hard work, determination, inspiration, commitment to tennis continuing education and mentorship. This iTPA award is open worldwide to tennis coaches under the age of 30, and the winner will be awarded $1000 good on any iTPA educational materials, including tennis fitness certifications. The iTPA was greatly saddened to hear of Paul’s passing, as many of our members knew him personally and professionally. Through this award Paul’s legacy will live on, and this will grant younger tennis coaches with the means to advance their careers by increasing knowledge and skills in the tennis fitness industry.
Paul Arber was an Australian Tennis Coach liked by all who knew him. He ran the coaching facility, Trademark Tennis, at the Leon Haskin Tennis Centre (Melbourne, Australia).
Paul had previously worked with the Australian Institute of Sport and the National High Performance Academy (Australia), and was also the Assistant Men's Tennis Coach at Auburn University in addition to working in a coaching capacity with several elite tennis juniors and professionals, including Justine Henin, Monica Seles and Caroline Wozniacki (according to his website).
Paul truly loved the game of tennis and devoted his life to it. Many tributes to Paul have been posted on social media. “Arbs,” as he was often called, was well liked by three generations. He was respected by his elders, loved by those of his own age and looked up to by kids that he coached.
