International Water Leaders Attending The Global Water Summit 2016
(PRWEB) April 13, 2016 -- The theme for this year’s event is “Water 2050”; delegates and speakers will be asked to consider what the future holds if the business models and financial structures needed in order to bring serious investment into the water sector and turn the current crisis of scarcity and disrupted supplies around are not implemented.
Christopher Gasson explained the importance of looking forward to the state of the water sector in 2050: “I can’t remember a year which has started with less forward visibility than 2016: Plummeting oil prices, turmoil in China, capital flight from emerging markets into the dollar. All the certainties of the global economy seem to have been turned on their head, and quite frankly it is difficult enough thinking about what will happen in the next 35 weeks let along the next 35 years.
But at the same time, it is only by stepping back and thinking about the long view that we can make sense of the present and begin to see the trends and opportunities which are beginning to emerge.”
