Internet of Things Security Startup, Bastille Networks, Obtains $1.5 Million in Angel Funding
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) September 10, 2014 -- Bastille Networks, the first security company to detect and mitigate threats affecting the Internet of Things (IoT), announced that it has secured $1.5 million in funding from top Atlanta angel investors. The investment will be used to fuel product development and successful implementation of its first pilots.
Founded in April by veteran Internet security executive, Chris Rouland, Bastille Networks is pioneering IoT security with next-generation sensors, allowing corporations to accurately quantify risk and mitigate 21st century airborne threats.
Racing to secure the IoT
By 2020, the world will be home to 50 billion connected devices. With five connected devices per person by 2017, the exponential rise of the IoT poses challenges for today’s security professionals who are responsible for the protection of individual devices, information networks and physical environments.
The magnitude of these new airborne threat vectors is beginning to vex industry. As Goldman Sachs reveals in its recent report, IoT is the most explosive and important Internet trend yet. However, the report notes “security concerns escalate to a whole new level with the IoT.”
