Manchester, NH (PRWEB) August 11, 2016 -- Dyn, the Internet Performance Management (IPM) company, today announced key Q2 2016 industry and company milestones:
The Internet Performance Management (IPM) category is defined by major analyst firms;
Continued DNS Industry Leadership; and
Closed $50M Series B funding and added key talent.
Internet Performance Management (IPM) Defined
As the IPM space continues to expand, Dyn has taken a significant leadership stance with its ability to not only monitor internet routing configurations and traffic, but also to enable critical control decisions.
In May, Gartner recognized internet performance monitoring in its May 2016 report, “Network Performance Monitoring Tools Leave Gaps in Cloud Monitoring” (subscription required), referencing Dyn as a sample vendor. Gartner Research Director Sanjit Ganguli noted, “...internet performance monitoring technology is applicable to any cloud-hosted application that is accessed via an internet connection or over a content distribution network (CDN).”
In the same month, Dyn released its Internet Performance Management platform, a full suite of tools and services that offers companies unprecedented visibility, insights and control into their global internet and cloud infrastructure.
Robert Mahowald, Group VP, Applications and Cloud Business Models at IDC, further validated Dyn’s platform for IPM, saying, “It has tremendous potential for any Enterprise CIO, which is why I think Internet Performance Management is an exciting evolution in how Enterprises will secure and mobilize their important cloud applications and data.”
Continued DNS Leadership
Dyn’s DNS for Internet Performance Management, the Managed DNS market share leader in the Alexa 500, gained new advanced capabilities in Q2 with the addition of Dynamic Steering. Dynamic Steering allows for DNS route changes to be made autonomous of operator control, responding to performance and other pre-planned and real-time traffic steering decisions.
“DNS is at the core of Internet Performance Management,” said Phil Francisco, VP, Product Marketing and Management, Dyn. “Full IPM requires the pairing of monitoring with advanced analytics and internet traffic steering capabilities. Real-time, proactive control unlocks the full potential of internet visibility.”
In addition Dyn was selected to be a host of F-Root nameserver nodes in a partnership with Internet Systems Consortium (ISC). ISC operates F-Root, one of the 13 internet root name servers that support the core DNS infrastructure of the internet.
The quarter also brought in several key enterprise and large commercial customer wins that continue to validate Dyn’s approach to IPM. Significant new customers for the quarter included IBM Security and DraftKings.
Executing On The IPM Vision
With increasing industry momentum, Dyn is focused on executing its IPM vision. In Q2, Dyn announced a $50 million Series B investment and the addition of new executives.
Additionally, Jim Baum was named Executive Chairman of the company. Baum brings a track record of success to Dyn, having scaled industry leading technology companies including Netezza and Endeca to rapid growth and increased profitability.
